Easy, One-Person Installation
AA Series attic ladders have a floor-to-ceiling height range of 7 feet 4 inches to 10 feet 3 inches. Hardware for the door is included (door not included), and one person can complete the easy installation process alone--no cutting is required.

Installing the ladder was relatively easy. However, I have spent the weekend installing the door, and I still consider the door a failure, both visually and the large gaps that will make my AC bill go up. The included weather stripping is not good enough. Now I have to think about getting an attic door tent.

Ladder works as described - perfect if you dont have the space for fold-out as was our case - a bit difficult to install and unfortunately does not come with the 'door'/'cover', but it has definately made things easier in our closet attic entrance.

I just installed this in the last two weeks. Seems okay so far. Fit in our 24x30 inch space. Other bigger ladders would not fit and would have necessitated cutting ceiling joists and reframing the opening which would have been a much bigger job. Certainly eases access to the attic as compared to dragging the step ladder up from the basement and hoisting oneself up every time. Means my wife can go up now without my help.

Complaint: When the box came it had a tear in it. All the parts were still there and undamaged but the instructions and templates were missing. I got the instructions on-line but not the templates. Managed to install with out the templates but it would have been easier with them. This is not the fault of Werner but of the shipping.

Tip: Have a door ready to go before installing the ladder that way you don't have to live with an open hole in your ceiling until you get the door ready. Door does not come with ladder. You have to make it yourself, but the kit does have the hinges, weather stripping, other hardware and instructions on how to make a door.

One thing I have to figure out now is how best to insulate the door. The ladder gets in the way a little so thorough insulation may be a bit of a challenge. I'll probably glue some foam to the door as much as is possible.

Great ladder. I was concerned about the quality and sterdiness with nothing more to go on than a picture but everything about this ladder is top grade. Installation was a snap. My wife and child could both operate the later with ease using the the included pole. No more chairs or ladders to carry up from the basement!

The Werner telescoping ladder that I installed in a 30"X30" opening in my house worked so well I bought a second ladder for the garage attic opening. The opening in the garage is 22"X22" but works well though not as roomy as the opening in the house. The ladders went in quickly because the openings were already in place and I didn't have to modify the house. The instructions and drilling templates for the ladder worked well and it took me less than two hours to install each ladder. The door to cover the opening must be constructed on site but the ladder comes with all necessary hinges and hardware.

I am very happy with construction of the ladder and the manner in which it works. I feel that entry into my attic areas is now safer and easier.
